Clinton Hill Brownstone Rustic Restoration

This 5-story brownstone in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn has been fully renovated while maintaining a historical feel. The house has a rustic look, with exposed brick walls in many rooms, visible beams and mantles that look weathered, but in a good way. Many areas of the home look unfinished, which was done intentionally. I love the loft-like top floor, currently designated as a home office and studio space. The outdoor patio reminds me of my own Brooklyn backyard.

Inside Brooklyn Homes - Prospect Heights Apartment

The designer, Wary Meyers Decorative Arts, describes this Brooklyn apartment as "pretty, geometric, Asian, pink, hipster." Exposed brick, salvaged hardwood floors, custom mantle, unique wallpaper, ornate chandeliers and a lot of pink - the perfect home for a Brooklyn girl!

Inside Brooklyn Homes - Artist Vik Muniz's Brooklyn Live / Work Space

I love peeking into beautiful Brooklyn homes, as well as artist's studios. So what a treat when I came across artist Vik Muniz's Brooklyn live/work space. The space is bohemian, open, airy and inspiring - a plain modern palette with a splash of vibrant colors and prints. Enjoy!

Inside Brooklyn Homes - Midwood Home

Most of the Brooklyn Homes I've posted on this blog have been attached rowhouses in areas of Brooklyn commonly referred to as "Brownstone Brooklyn." For a change of pace, check out the interior of this beautifully renovated detached home in Midwood, a small neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Inside Brooklyn Homes - ClockTower Building

Many of us have seen Brooklyn's ClockTower building from Manhattan or walked by it in Brooklyn. From the outside, it looks like an industrial or commercial property. The inside, however, is quite different. Here's a peak at the $25 million, 3-story apartment in which the clock sits. (all images via New York Times)

Inside Brooklyn Homes - Townhouse by Tom Scheerer

I love the brightness of this Brooklyn townhouse, designed by architectural and interior designer Tom Scheerer. The ceilings are incredibly high and there's so much light. The old fireplaces look to have been restored to mint condition. Note the intricate details of the crown moldings and hardwood floors. There's even an arched doorway, which is not common in Brooklyn. Isn't it beautiful?! (all images via Tom Scheerer)
