In my other life as an Advertising/Marketing Chick, I would get my nails done every week so that I had presentable, fabulous career hands (LOL!). I rarely wear nailpolish these days since my hands are constantly in water for work, taking care of kids, house, dinner, etc. (chips happen really fast!) and I am not down with all of the crap that is in many nailpolish formulas anyway. So when I saw the Sula nail color, I snatched it up right away to give it a try.
The Sula Paint & Peel™ nail color is non-toxic, water-based and free of the big three nailpolish evils - formeldehyde, toluene and pthalates (lovely chemicals that have been linked to cancer, liver damage and interference with the endocrine system). It peels off, too, removing the need for harsh, stinky polish remover. So you can wear it for a day and peel it right off (which is why they call it "Makeup for Your Nails" - it is not designed to be long-lasting). No commitment and super-easy. There is also none of the strong traditional nail color scent, just a faint, oddly calming smell of school glue (at least that's what I thought!).I chose the "Berry" shade since it was spot on with my favorite color, but the entire line of colors are fab. I will definitely try "Moss" (a mossy green) and "Shadow" (a pale mauve). The nail color goes on super smoothly with no bumps or streaks and was surprisingly shiny. After applying it (per the instructions) to dry, clean nails, applying two coats and keeping my hands out of water for 3 hours (which was hard!) the color lasted until the end of the day when I decided to peel it off with ease. According to the Sula website (http://www.sulabeauty.com/) there are a base coat and permanent top coat you can apply that will make it more like a longer lasting traditional polish, but why bother when this stuff is so fast and easy?
I give it a fun, fabulous berry-colored thumbs up!
