Oddly enough, I received the most gorgeous vintage French fabrics on the same day that I bought the machine, what timing!

Those of you who have followed this blog along or who know me personally, may know that my childrens birthdays and my birthday are in the same week. This is the week. Dillons was yesterday, luckily he didnt want a party etc. He is 17 now, I just cannot beleieve it! Mine is tomorrow, the 4th of July, very fitting for an American. Georgias is the following day. Her party with her friends is on Saturday and then she is having a sleepover that evening with 3 girls.
Georgias party is a horse and pony party. We made the party bags ( drawstring bags)from horsey fabric and used bright satin ribbon for the drawstring. I am going to attempt to make a horse head cake ( brings to mind a certain image from the Godfather). We have horse theme decorations etc. We have also bought plastic horses and made place cards with each girls name on them. We are going to stick a paperclip to each horse and then insert the placecard into the clip and have horsey placecard holders! I will post lots of pics after the event and you can all have a good laugh at my horse cake!

My mom always sends over a large box full with presents for myself and the kids. This year she surprised me by asking me to open a small package before my birthday. In it was the most wonderful vintage style apron pattern by a company called The Paisley Pincushion. It is a scalloped apron. the package is adorable and it was actually made in the US ( something very rare these days). this was a such a thoughtful gift and I am so happy about it. I only hope me and my new machine can do this beautiful pattern justice. Thanks Mom!
